Q: What defferce between and 2005 Honda Civic Si and EX?
Hi after Army boot camp I'm gonna buy my first car.. Im lookin toward Civics. I like the EX version better but still not sure what the defference between them and SI. I also see more ex available to buy used between 9 - 11 thousands. I also think it looks better. Can someone please tell one what the difference is and any recommendations?
A: The person above me is completely wrong. The 2005 Honda Civic Si never came with a 6-Speed manual transmission nor was the main difference the engine.
Let me give you the REAL facts. Compared to the EX model the Si had the K20A3 engine which produced 160 HP and it only came in a 5-Speed manual transmission. It also had a better suspension with a 5 lug bolt pattern instead of the usual 4 bolt and most importantly it was only made in the Hatchback body style.
The EX had the D17A2 engine which produced 127 HP and it also included a sunroof like the Si version. Aside from that the EX and the Si trim levels are totally different.
If I were you I would go with the EX version. The Si for the 02-05 year was horrible. Sure the K20A3 engine was good but the hatchback body style was hidious. The 1999-2000 Honda Civic Si is much better or even the 06+ Si.
Q: Tell me about the 2002-2005 Honda Civic Si hatchback?
I want a used one. Between $9,000 and $11,000.
what kind of mileage could i expect out of a car from these years 02-05? What would be a good mileage?
Any issues with these cars?
They seem hard to find. Are they?
what about performance and fuel economy?
are they reliable?
A: Honda's are such amazing and reliable cars. This new civic seems very quick due to the fact the size up accord is a very reliable and fast car. It isnt rare for a Honda to keep going strong after 125,000 miles with just standard repairs (oil changes, brakes, fluid refills). Stay with the honda, fuel economy is great too. also good resale value!
Q: 2005 Honda civic si code?
I have a 2005 Honda Civil SI and my battery died today. Well, someone jumped my car for me but then on the way home I couldnt get my radio to come on it said something about a code. What do I do I cant find anything about it in the manual?
My battery died and after being jumped off my radio wouldn't work. I bought to car preowned from a dealership and never received a code card and don't want to pay for them to give me the code. I understand the it is supposed to be protected against thieves not owners whom buy the damn car. (Sorry I am a little pissed about the code issue) Can anyone help me out? I want to fix this fast free and easily.
A: Make sure your radio is OFF. Hold down the preset buttons 1 and 6 at the same time. Turn the radio on and your SERIAL NUMBER will appear. 4 numbers first and then 4 more. Write them down (obviously) then call (800) 999-1009. Make sure you have your VIN number handy because they will ask for it. They will ask for your name and approx. milage, and your radio's serial number. They will then give you your radio unlock code--WRITE IT DOWN!
Q: 2005 Honda Civic Si with Super High Miles, Good Idea?
Only looking for answers from serious car guys. I am in the market for a commuter car. Just to drive to work some days and take short trips. I have a 4x4 that I will be driving also. I don't want to spend over 13k for a small car. I've been looking for a while and just recently came across a 05' Civic Si with 187k miles. Dealer is asking 7k, but I think I could get him down to 6-6500 range. The car blue books for 10 even with 187k miles on it. The car looks super clean, and the dealer said it was a trade in on a guy that obviously did a lot of traveling for work. I wouldn't consider myself a master mechanic but, I have rebuilt engines, and I never take my car to a shop, I do everything myself. I emailed the dealer to ask if the timing belt has been changed, but haven't gotten an response yet. So, good idea or bad idea? Any Civic gurus have some insight? I've gotten 270,000 out of a late model jeep before, which is why I'm seriously considering this little car.
A: I am sure the car will last, but to me that just seems like a lot of money and so many miles. I would try to talk them down even more. You are kind of in a good position for a deal. Not too many people will be interested in a car with that many miles. I would try $5500. and go from there.

Q: I have a Honda Civic Si i want to sell but am upside down..?
I have a 2005 Honda civic si with about 91000 miles, good condition, sunroof, etc. THe only thing is i am upside down. I owe 14000 on it. I would hope to get at least 8500 for it. Do i have to pay the finance company the difference before i can release the title?
A: Of course, you need to pay the balance of the loan before they will release the title. Once you have the title then you can sell it or trade it in. Good luck.

Q: Which car is better,2008 Honda civic Si sedan,Nissan 350z,Mazda Rx-8,2005 Hyundai Tiburon,Chevrolet cobalt SS?
Which car is better in all categories like performance, quality etc: 2008 Honda civic Si sedan,
Nissan 350z, Mazda Rx-8, 2005 Hyundai Tiburon, Chevrolet cobalt SS supercharged, or 2005 Toyota celica gts. Which one is the best in all categories?
A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here - carinsurance.enacre.net
Q: Will the new 3-prong (2005) Civic SI Steering wheel fit my 94 Honda Accord CPE?
I already know I can take it to Honda/Acura Dealership. I need an answer to the question itself...
A: no
Q: Is Honda Accord 2.0 2003(THE SAME EXTERIOR AS EURO R) better or Honda Civic 2.0 Si 2005?
Comparison in terms of APPEARANCE, PERFORMANCE, HANDLING and DURABILITY.
A: Based in the Singapore market, the 2.0 Civic Si will have less market value because most people will prefer to go for the 1.8 litre version. If performance is your interest, Mugen is coming up with a supercharger kit specially for the 2.0 Civic. Appearance wise, I will prefer the Civic. It's look is in stock form sucks. But after putting in the Mugen bodykits, it will look fantastic together with the aftermarket projection lights from Mcwell Ventures. Handling & durability have not much difference. But in terms of aftermarket parts.Civic definitely has more varieties.

Q: 04 - 05 Civic Si, Mazda Wagon or Neither??? HELP!!
O.K. guys, I am a college student in Northern Jersey with some needed advice. I need a new car and am not trying to kill myself with a top-model brandy-new car and get killed each month by high payments (due to my age and where I live.) I currently own a 2001 Jetta (POS) and am desperately trying to get rid of it. I have found in my area a 2005 Honda Civic Si (ep3). Is it worth buying? I know how much faster and better the knew ones are but I don't have $300 a month for a new car right now. The Mazda3's are cheaper than the new Si's but don't if it's worth it compared to the 05 EP3. I just want a decent car with decent hp/tq for commuting and the occasional rip. What do you guys think I should do? (I will not buy another VW due to high maintenance costs - it's insane what they're are charging for the hour!!)
A: If I had to pick from those I would choose the Honda over the Mazda any day because they are proven vehicles and most all Mazda vehicles will start to burn oil at or around 60,000 miles.
As for the maintenance, the VW is out of the roof but both of the cars that you have selected cost a lot to maintain as well but not as bad as the VW....

Q: 2002 Honda Civic Cold Air Intake?
Does anyone who understands intake systems better than me know whether or not buying an EP3 COLD AIR INTAKE which is about $200 cheaper will have near the same results as a K&N one? I know that K&N is the top brand and manufacturer.

A: From what I understand, the intake is just metal tubing and will give you the same results.
The real results are in the filter, so get yourself a reputable filter and slap it on your intake. You should be good.
Just don't stick with the filter it comes with, I bought an Ebay intake a while back and the filter it came with started shriveling up so bad it started ripping.
