Q: 2002 Honda Civic LX is smoking near the catalytic converter. Any suggestions?
Hi, I have a 2002 Honda Civic LX with 28,000 miles and there is a little smoke coming from the engine. It looks as if it is coming from the catalytic converter, but I can't tell for sure. It also smells like burning rubber. Has anyone else had a similar problem? What was it and how can I fix it?
-Thanks

Q: Can 2 adults fit comfortably in the back of a 2002 Honda civic lx coupe?
Thinking about buying one. I usually go out with 3 friends at a time and want to make sure that they will all feel reasonably comfortable.
A: No. The Civic is a fun car and the front seats are fine, but adults will not be happy in the back seats for any length of time. Short half hour trips, yeah no big deal. But it's not comfortable beyond that.
Q: How much would it cost to get my struts replaced on my 2002 Honda civic lx? Including labor charges,?
Just the rear, and then the front.
A: Different in all parts of USA.
Call several auto repair shops in your area and ask for an estimate over the phone for your particular car.
If you can, ask around to friends, neighbors and family to get a good repair shop.
Q: where do I find a 2002 honda civic lx's air conditioning fuse?
I am trying to find the fuse for the ac however it isn't in the diagram of the fuse box.
A: It would help to know what the problem is with the car. The Civic uses two fuses for the air conditioning system and one relay for the blower motor.
there is a 10amp fuse in the panel under the left side of the dash #14 that is for the air conditioning system. the inside of the fuse panel cover usually has a diagram on it that shows you which fuse that is.
there is a fuse and the blower motor relay in the underhood fuse and relay box. the underhood fuse and relay box is typically in the passenger side rear of the engine compartment but may be in the driver's front. It has a black cover on it and is about 5" long and 3" wide. there is a digaram under the cover that identifies the fuses and relays.
hope that helps
Q: Need an estimate on replacing a car hood for a 2002 2dr Honda Civic LX?
Need to know what price to expect when I take my car in for repairs. A ballpark estimate would be great, I know an exact estimate is not possible online. I just need to know if my tax check would cover the repairs. The hood needs to be replaced on a white 2002 2dr Honda Civic LX. Thanks!
A: I`M IN ONTARIO CANADA I DID ONE LAST YEARS IT COST ME $ 255 WITH PAINT SO IT WAS $ 120 PART AND THE REST WAS FOR PAINT AND LABOUR

A: measure the inside diameter of your drums. there's your answer.
Q: I have a 2002 honda civic lx and i was wondering if it would fit 17" rims comfortably?
I need to also no if i should go 16s or 17s because i don't want to compromise the ride but i want it to look good.
Thanx
A: 17's look very good with low profile tires, but they can be heavy and your braking distance might increase. Usually, bigger rims means better handling since you have a wider rim/ tire. 16's still look good, and you will get a comfortable ride, but not necessarily better handling. The ride is usually compromised by the sidewall tire size, lower profile = rougher ride. I have 18's on my '03 Accord with really low profile tires and it's definitely a bumpier ride, the speedometer is off 2 mph, and braking takes a little longer, but they look so good! I think I'd go with the 16's just to be on the safe side, but the decision is really up to you... good luck!
Q: what is the length of the windshield wipers for a 2002 honda civic lx?
i need to replace my old wipers because they are leaving streaks on my windshield. i went to walmart and looked at the book but it was all torn up so i only saw one size. i though both sides would be the same length but i kinda figured when i tried to change it. i bought 21". i just need to know the length. i think its suppose to be shorter than 21". thanks in advance.
A: It's easy enough for you to just snap the old one off the arm on the way into the store, and pick up a pair of that exact same size.
It is what I always used to do.
Q: What is the best amp to buy ($200-$350) for a 2002 Honda Civic LX coupe?
I installed two after-market pioneer speakers but I dont think my car's deck can support it so I need to get an amp.
A: it depends on what you will have hooked up to the amp. Most head units can have an amp hooked up to them. If the speakers you bought are midranges or tweeters, you wont need much power. If they are subs, you want to try to match the their power rating to the amp. example: 400w sub----->300-400w mono amp (both rms), double for 2 speakers
Q: what would be the best air intake for my 2002 honda civic lx ?
what air intake would give me the most power and at what rpms?
A: Stock.
As you just mentioned, it's a matter of RPM.
Say you buy a 500$ intake, that gets you a whopping 8 horsepower at 5200rpm.
But for the rest of the powerband, you get nothing. Maybe 1, maybe 2. And how often are you at 5200 rpm anyway? Are you going to just keep your engine revved to that, to keep your performance?
So, you gain zero performance. Because for the most amount of your useful powerband, you're not gaining anything.
And this is the case with all aftermarket intakes currently on the market.
They advertise max horsepower, but the dynos prove that there's little to no gain for the rest. In fact, some even take away torque, which is what you actually NEED to get your car moving.
Don't waste your money, if you have two cells worth of intelligence in your body.
Q: Does anyone know where I can find a keyless entry kit OEM for a 2002 Honda Civic LX?
I looked on ebay and handaaccessories, and searched google but they all have been discontinued. OEM is the easiest way for me to install this system.
I need the system not the transmitter.
A: You can always purchase one from ebay and bring it back to the dealers to program it. here's a link i just looked up you'll be spending only about $20 for the remote but I don't actually know how much the dealers would chrge to program it.
There's always a second option, you can forget about the OEM, and replace the entire security with an aftermarket remote, you can even have "keyless engine start" option. It might cost you around $150 - 400 depending on the Brand and features.
Q: Honda Civic LX 2002 Steam/smoke problem?
Hello. I own a 2002 Honda Civic LX. 120 000 kms.
Problem is that I had a new thermostat and radiator installed. I was not getting consistant heat from the vents. So, I took the car to a mechanic and the thermostat was replaced as well as the radiator. However, I just noticed that when I arrived home, the engine was steaming a little bit for about 25 seconds and there was a sweet smell. What is this? My mechanic replaced the radiator and thermostat. he told me that this would solve the problem.
A: It is quite possible that while filling the radiator with coolant, he may have spilled some outside the fill hole and it sat in the radiator core. After warming up the system the radiator got hot and the coolant on the outside of the radiator just steamed off. This would result in a sweet smell as well. If it still smells like that after 15 miles or so, then you may still have a problem.
Q: How do you reset maintence light on a 2002 honda civic lx?
A: Push and hold the trip reset button on your dash, with the button still pressed, turn the key to ACC (dash lights, radio comes on but car doesn't start) Hold button until light starts to flash, it'll do this for about 5 seconds, and should take about the same amount of time to start flashing. after it stops turn key off and it should be reset.
